I believe this is one of the saddest pieces of music ever composed...

Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings, op.11

And the choral version

"In the Dead of Night".... rock out!

Here's a random song that I think is pretty awesome, only problem is no one has it online (one guy has a chopped up vid of it on youtube with him playing sax over it at some place, but fuck that), so we're stuck listening to a short sample of it on Amazon.

Go here, then click on the sample for "I Don't Hear No Music".

Thinkin' I may buy the CD just for that one track.

Here's a trip-hop track I heard at the end of the quite awesome flick, Narc (which I'll write about shortly).

The Baby Namboos - Provoked

Might as well post a Massive Attack tune, too...

Massive Attack - Angel

HORROR MOVIE EDITION!

Some music from the movie Hellraiser; one of my favorite horror movie themes comes in at :33.

Resurrection

And a very nice restatement of the piece:

Re-resurrection

I dunno if there are any Argento fans here, but check out Profondo Rosso! Here's the awesomely wacky theme from Goblin...

Profondo Rosso Main Theme

And let's round things off with an entry from my favorite composer, Philip Glass...

Candyman

Saw this on the Bumbleforum, pretty cool jazz-fusion tune. I quite dig the chord changes, and the guitar player really goes off; nice chops.

Aaron Parks - Nemesis

Electronica Edition

Venetian Snares - Szerencsétlen

One of the dudes I work with turned me on to Venetian Snares, and this album in particular; Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett. It's a bunch of chopped up classical music (mostly from Hungarian composers) played against Aphex Twin-style drums, and largely in 7/4. Interesting stuff... and speaking of Mr. Richard D. James:

The hilariously disturbing classic, Come To Daddy

Funny Little Man

Aphex Twin is great, as far as I'm concerned. And the videos he's done with Chris Cunningham are all really fucking weird...

Boards of Canada are one of my personal favorite electronica duos. A lot of their music makes me reminisce for reasons I can't quite figure.

Roy G. Biv

Everything You Do is a Balloon

Left Side Drive, the most chill song ever

That's enough for now...

Here's my personal favorite death metal band, Morbid Angel; I love the riff at 2:29...

Fall From Grace

Another sick tune from the album Formulas Fatal to the Flesh (which is my go-to album when lifting); 3:01 - 3:33 is pretty fucking cool-sounding, imo.

Prayer of Hatred

And now for something completely different...

"Exploration", from the movie Coraline, composed by Bruno Coulais

Coraline, despite being a "kid movie", was really quite good, and the music was perfect. It set an excellent mood, and I like this tune in particular; it's kind of melancholy, yet... not. haha I think it's great.

The vocal lines are all gibberish, by the way.
