I'm having a problem with my computer's DVD drive. When playing a movie or cd, the audio skips; video playback, however, is normal. I've also had no problems uploading audio cds into I-Tunes or burning mix cds.
Any idea what could be affecting audio playback in this manner? I have already tried cleaning the drive to no avail.
Thanks in advance, ya fuckin' flashlight-phile... _________________ Just Walk Away

Shit, I did not notice this post until logging in with this name! Sorry, Dan-man. Do you still need help with this?
Could be a few different things causing it, and would need to ask some questions.
LOL @ flashlight-phile. Guilty as charged. In fact, just yesterday I finished restoring the first one I ever owned from around 10 years old. Works great! Post coming soon... haha. _________________

Yep, still need the help; would be greatly appreciated! I should be around Thursday night if you're available... otherwise let's get in touch on the weekend. _________________ Just Walk Away

This is still an ongoing problem... I don't often use my computer for playing dvds or cds, but it's still damned annoying. Calling you tomorrow, Most Highly Exalted Computer Geek. _________________ Just Walk Away

Still thinking about this after habla-ing. It's buggin' me because it just doesn't seem like hardware problem if your video is good, so hold off on trying a new drive just yet. There are a few things to try first.
I had asked if you're using WDM drivers or ASIO for the Toneport, and IIRC you weren't sure. I'll turn on the music machine with the Toneport tonight to remember what to look at (which is a horribly incriminating admission that I haven't done shit with it lately... yyessh *whistle*). _________________ I'm an excellent driver...
